The Otter Side of Nature provides educational and fun tools (games, puppets, books, etc) for children and adults to help them understand their place in the natural world - about their role in nature - enjoying it, taking care of it and living with nature safely.
We are located in Northeast Iowa with its wonderful woodlands, the Mississippi River, abundant wildlife and great amount of Midwest native prairie grasses and wildflowers. We also have Effigy Mounds National Monument and Yellow River State Forest, great canoeing, hiking and biking. It's a perfect place for families to visit and learn about the world around them.

The Otter Side of Nature began due to the insufficient educational resources in our area. Our family and extended family has quite a few small children and we wanted them to learn about their world while they're young - away from computers and battery-operated toys. We try to focus on hands-on projects that will help children notice, build and create things that will help see what's going on around them.

At The Otter Side of Nature we strive for customer satisfaction. We provide prompt service, and are ready to help you find what you're looking for. If we don't have it, we’ll help you find it! We also have a willingness to work with organizations and associations to provide a complete array of information and tools.

Nature is probably one of the best teachers for our children and grandchildren, so our goal is to provide materials that will show them how things in nature work together for their future and protection.
